About Suzanne Richards, LCSW
I have over 25 years of experience providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families who are dealing with issues related to personal/relational growth, addiction and recovery, depression, anxiety, procrastination and motivation. I provide psychotherapy which is based on principles of mindfulness. I am a graduate of both the Hakomi and Sensorimotor Institutes which train clinicians in the area of mindfulness based body centered psychotherapy.
I am currently a certification candidate at the ToDo Institute where I study the practices of Morita, Naikan and Kaizen therapies. I am EMDR trained. In addition, I am trained in Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention.
These therapeutic approaches enable people to become aware of unhealthy reactive and automatic patterns of thinking and behavior. By reacting in an automatic and unconscious manner, rather than by responding consciously and skillfully, we unwittingly maintain these patterns and the unnecessary suffering which arises as a result.
