Insight Timer - This timer app has a timer function that allows you to select from a variety of bells to ring at the beginning, end, and at various intervals if desired, of your self-directed relaxation or meditation practice. It also has thousands of free guided relaxation and meditation recordings. I particularly recommend listening to the recordings by Hugh Byrne, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, and Jon Kabat-Zinn. You can purchase a subscription for access to additional content, but the basic timer function and a many guided meditations are available through the free version
Waking Up- Learn the fundamentals of mindfulness from Sam Harris—neuroscientist, author, and creator of Waking Up—as he also guides you into the deep end of meditation. 7-day free trial and then annual or monthly paid subscription.
